Hudson Valley Honor Flight whisked 86 veterans to Washington, D.C.
STEWART AIRPORT — Hudson Valley Honor Flight’s “Mission 18” took 86 area veterans to Washington, D.C., on Saturday, Nov. 4. The flight departed Stewart International Airport in Newburgh taking veterans on an all-expense paid trip to visit the nation’s war memorials on the daylong trip. It return 8:30 p.m. that evening. On board this 18th Honor Flight were 10 World War II veterans, 74 Korean War veterans and two Vietnam veterans. Each was accompanied by a volunteer personal “guardian” responsible for ensuring that the veteran’s trip is a memorable one.
