Focus Media Donates New Website to Hudson Valley Honor Flight

HV Honor Flight Press Release

New site provides key information for local veterans and their families

GOSHEN, N.Y. (June 19, 2019) – Focus Media, a leading, full-service and award-winning marketing and public relations firm, developed and launched a completely redesigned website for Hudson Valley Honor Flight (HVHF). The all-new www.hvhonorflight.com was designed free-of-charge by Focus Media. It couples an easily navigable user interface with a full screen design and a better mobile experience for veterans and their families interacting with the Walden-based nonprofit.

HVHF honors American veterans for all their sacrifices by bringing them to Washington, D.C. to visit their respective war memorials at no cost to them. Each veteran is accompanied by a volunteer personal “guardian” who is responsible for ensuring that the veteran’s trip is a memorable one. HVHF is also a local hub of the National Honor Flight Network, which has more than 100 independent non-profit “hubs” nationwide.

Focus Media’s Web Development Director Kevin Green has been an active member of HVHF’s board for five years and spearheaded the redesign of the website.

“This is the trip of a lifetime for our World War II and Korean War veterans, many of whom never received a welcome home when they returned from their service. They just humbly resumed their lives,” said Green. “We recognized the need for an improved application process so that veterans and their families could quickly and easily apply for this opportunity and so as many veterans as possible can be honored with future flights.”

The redesign is also timely since HVHF is now beginning to serve and will continue to serve younger generations of veterans; and they are more likely to access information online.

“It has helped greatly,” said HVHF Executive Director Jennifer DeFrancesco. “It is now much easier for veterans, guardians and volunteers to get the information they need and to get them signed up!”

“The fact that Focus Media was able to create a new website at no cost to us is huge! This allows us to put that savings to great use – honoring our veterans,” said Frank Kimler, Chairman of the HVHF Board. “We are very grateful for the partnership we have with Focus Media.”

Focus Media has a strong history of supporting Hudson Valley Honor Flight’s efforts. The agency developed the nonprofit’s logo and original website, and remains a trusted partner for publicity and community relations.

“Focus Media has been incredible to HVHF the past several years,” said DeFrancesco. “The ability to update our website, create flyers for events and get the word out to the press is immeasurable.”

“At Focus Media, we’re proud of the role we play in support of local nonprofit agencies,” said Focus Media President and CEO Josh Sommers. “This was an especially worthwhile project since this website is the vehicle for veterans to access the amazing opportunity of a trip of a lifetime that HVHF provides.”

Veterans and their families as well as volunteers and supporters are encouraged to visit the all-new website at www.hvhonorflight.com to learn about upcoming flights and how to get involved.
