Hudson Valley Honor Flight Holds Annual Lunch of Honor at Resorts World Catskills

December 7, 2025 – Hudson Valley Honor Flight hosted a packed event space at Resorts World Catskills for their annual Lunch of Honor.

Hudson Valley Honor Flight (HV Honor Flight) was honored to welcome hundreds of Veteran alumni, including a handful of its WWII Veteran alumni, supporters, volunteers, family and friends to its annual Lunch of Honor held at Resorts World Catskills in Monticello, New York for the fourth consecutive year.

The Big Band Sound delivered toe-tapping tunes and the always anticipated service medley to round out an afternoon of welcoming those who have flown with HV Honor Flight over the last thirteen years and especially those who flew in 2025, along with their families and friends.

The Washingtonville Junior ROTC presented the colors at the start of the program, and the National Anthem was sung by Julia Roome of Warwick, NY.

This year’s honoree was Mike “Uncle Mike” Hansen, the unofficial voice of HV Honor Flight, and WRWD 107.3, for his tremendous support of its mission and unwavering support of Veterans throughout the Hudson Valley.

Outdoing himself again this year, videographer Don Kelly provided a moving video tribute of moments from all three of our missions from 2025 – 35, 36, and 37. Through snow and sunny skies, all three missions were successful in reuniting our Veterans with their respective memorials in Washington, D.C. along with a stop at Arlington National Cemetery and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

The HV Honor Flight team looks forward to another exciting year of flying ahead and is beyond grateful for the incredible support from its platinum sponsor, ShopRite, and all the generosity of local businesses and organizations who make future missions a possibility. HV Honor Flight’s goal is to get every Veteran in its coverage area to experience the flight of a lifetime.
