I would like to volunteer at events and Flight Day. How can I help?

Our Stewart & Westchester flight committees meet monthly at Headquarters and Westchester Community College, respectively. Look at the calendar on our Events Page to see the date of our next meetings. Hope to see you there!

I am a Korean War Veteran. Can I go on an Honor Flight?

YES!  We have recently begun taking Korean War veterans on our flights.  Please note that our WWII Veterans do take priority, though.  We keep all Korean War veterans’ applications on file, and selections for the flights are made in the order the applications are received.   Applications can be mailed to our PO Box.

Can my son, daughter, grandson, etc. come as a guardian?

While our TOP priority is the safe travel of ALL the veterans, family members can apply to be guardians and are given priority over guardians who are not linked with a veteran. Spouses, however, are not permitted to go on the flight and serve as guardians. Who will or will not serve as a guardian, and how many guardians will be needed, is the responsibility of the Executive Director and the HVHF Flight Committee. That decision is based upon many factors such as the number of disabled veterans signed up for the flight and the number of family members requested to be guardians. Medically trained, active duty military personnel and veterans who have previously participated in a flight may also be given priority and may serve as flight and bus leaders for flight day.
