Our funding comes primarily from individuals and local businesses and corporations who recognize the great accomplishments and sacrifices of our veterans and want them to see their memorial before it’s too late.
WHEELCHAIRS – About 80% of our veterans need wheelchairs at some point during Flight Day. Our deluxe motor coaches are ordered with this in mind. Our coaches are equipped with wheelchair lifts. If there is a possibility that a veteran may need a wheelchair during one of our trips, we ask that the veteran bring their own or contact us and we will make arrangements to have one available.
OXYGEN – If a veteran requires oxygen, HVHF makes accommodations to ensure that they can still take part on our flight to Washington. Please contact us at 845-391-0076 and we will put you in touch with our medical coordinator.
YES! Such veterans go to the top of the list for the next HV Honor Flight departing to Washington D.C.
The cost of a guardian to go is $400. Checks can be made payable to HVHF (Hudson Valley Honor Flight) and mailed to the P.O. Box. Due to the high volume of guardian applications, there is a waiting list for guardians who are not specifically requested by veterans. Checks will not be cashed without consent until the guardian’s application has been accepted.
